Saturday Video: Who Needs a Bridle?

The story is making waves on equine social media today: a Grand Prix show jumper loses its bridle midway through the course, and still goes on to finish clear.

Gregory Wathelet and Conrad de Hus were competing in the Prix du Qatar in Paris yesterday when the horse’s bridle broke just a few fences from home. The bridle was left hanging with just the bit in the horse’s mouth, held up by Gregory. The pair went on to finish clear, and the horse ever so professionally waited for the groom to grab him instead of running off to taste freedom.

Up next, bridleless Grand Prix classes? We think this horse has quite a knack!
