Updates to the list of FEI Warning Cards for Eventing were made following the conclusion of Defender Burghley CCI5* this past weekend. To that end, six Recorded Warnings have been handed down from the Ground Jury, consisting of Christina Klingspor (SWE), Andrew Bennie (NZL) and Valerie Pride (USA).
The following Recorded Warnings were given out:
- Emma Hyslop-Webb: Recorded Warning for Dangerous Riding – Riding out of control (Eventing Rules Art. 525)
- Alexander Tordoff: Recorded Warning for Dangerous riding – Series of dangerous jumps (Eventing Rules Art. 525)
- Jack Mantel: Recorded Warning for Dangerous riding – Series of dangerous jumps (Eventing Rules Art. 525)
- Tom Bird: Recorded Warning for Dangerous riding – Pressing a tired Horse (Eventing Rules Art. 525)
- Emma Thomas: Recorded Warning for Dangerous riding – Jumping from a standstill (Eventing Rules Art. 525.1)
- Elspeth Bryce: Recorded Warning for Dangerous riding – Series of dangerous jumps (Eventing Rules Art. 525)
It’s worth noting that three of these pairs were also stopped on cross country by the Ground Jury: Alexander Tordoff was stopped before fence 30, Tom Bird was stopped at 24A, and Elspeth Bryce at 22. Emma Thomas completed cross country with 60 jumping penalties and 18.8 time, and Emma Hyslop-Webb completed with 20 jumping penalties and 46 time penalties on cross country (though of course it’s also worth noting that we don’t have context on what jump scenario Emma was sanctioned for). Jack Mantel fell with Jack Daniels at fence 18B. Ireland’s Joseph Murphy was also stopped by the Jury at fence 27, but no sanction has appeared on the list as of publication.
