Big news, EN! After the vocal support of the membership population of the USEA and further considerations, the American Eventing Championships will extend its term at the Kentucky Horse Park for 2021. The current contract in place for the Horse Park and the AEC runs through 2020 with the option to add a third year.

The 2020 dates for the American Eventing Championships are August 30 – September 5 [Editor’s Note: the dates originally reported in this article have been updated to reflect a correction made on January 15, 2020 by the USEA). Meanwhile, the USEA Board of Governors has selected Rebecca Farm as the nominee venue for 2022, meaning contract negotiations can begin. Currently host to one USEA and FEI event each year, the Kalispell, Montana destination venue has long been tossed around as an option for the Championships. The proposed date for the 2022 AEC is August 31-September 4, 2022 and this event would be run in addition to their flagship July event.

So, who’s got Kentucky on their calendar for the next two years? Would you make the trip to Montana for the 2022 AEC? Go Eventing!
