EN’s Ultimate Guide to the 2025 Agria FEI Eventing European Championships for Seniors

It’s high championship season for European riders this summer, and we’re all set to go with the final FEI Eventing European Championships, this time for Senior riders. The Europeans return to Great Britain for the first time in 20 years at Blenheim Palace, located in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, England. Alongside the European Championships is also a CCI4*-S for 8- and 9-year-old horses, held in a different part of the park and over a cross country course designed by David Evans.

We’ll have much more coverage coming to you from Blenheim thanks to the knowledgeable duo of Tilly Berendt and Catherine Austen, with Cheg Darlington running a cross country live blog on Saturday. 17 nations are represented this week, with nine of them fielding teams. Germany and Great Britain are the most historically dominant countries, duking it out for the gold medals dating well back into the 90s, but there are a few countries who’ve really been on the up and up of late who could pose a threat to the dynasty. There are also some really cool storylines to follow, not only amongst the heavy hitters but also from nations that are sending individual riders. Turkey, for example, is making its first appearance at a Senior Championships, and Norway is another rarely-represented nation on the roster.
